Coming soon to Press Golf

Run the whole
tournament.

Member-guests, charity scrambles, league days and club championships. Directors run the whole event from a browser — nothing to install. One player per foursome keeps the card in the Press Golf app they already use. A live leaderboard anyone can open updates the moment a score is saved.

Coming soon — not live yet

Tournament Mode is still being built — you can't run an event on it today. The prototype linked above is a working walkthrough of the director portal, the in-app scorecard and the public leaderboard. Join the waitlist and we'll reach out before the first events go live.

Three screens, one event.

Everything the players and the public leaderboard need flows from a single setup screen.

STEP 01

The director sets it up

Sign in at pressgolfapp.com — no app required. Name the event, pick the course, and enter slope, rating and par. Choose the format — two-man best ball, four-man best ball or individual stroke play — then set the handicap allowance for the event. Pull returning golfers from your directory — start typing and their GHIN index and contact fill in. Course handicaps calculate automatically from slope, rating and par.

STEP 02

One scorer per group

The scorecard is the one piece that lives in the app. Every golfer gets their own QR code — scanning it opens Press Golf already identified, with name, index, course handicap and team pre-loaded. One player in each foursome keeps the card and enters gross for the whole group, hole by hole, on the scorecard they already use. A six-character event code works as a fallback.

STEP 03

Everyone watches live

The leaderboard is a web page — no app, no login. Spouses, sponsors, the pro shop and players still on the front nine can all open the same page and refresh. It recomputes every net score the moment any player saves a hole.

Where each piece lives

The director portal and the public leaderboard are web pages at pressgolfapp.com — no download, and the leaderboard opens for anyone you send it to. The only part inside the Press Golf app is the scorecard players use to enter their holes.

The parts nobody wants to do by hand.

  • 01

    Handicap allowance per event

Full, 95%, 90%, 85% or scratch. Change the dropdown and every net score on the leaderboard recomputes.

  • 02

    Strokes allocated automatically

Course handicap from index, slope, rating and par — then strokes distributed hole by hole by stroke index.

  • 03

    Per-player QR codes

Text or email each golfer their own code. Players without the app get a sign-up link first.

  • 04

    Net or gross

Run the event on net scores with handicaps applied, or gross for a scratch field.

  • 05

    Skins as a side game

Optional gross and net pools layered on the same scores, with carryovers. Each golfer opts in individually.

  • 06

    Works without signal

Holes entered out of coverage queue on the phone and sync as soon as service comes back.

  • 07

    Fix things mid-round

Correct a score, adjust a handicap or move a golfer between teams from your phone. Standings recompute instantly.

  • 08

    Recap written for you

Generate a write-up of the event — winners, low round, skins — and send it to every player by text or email.

Free to play. Paid to run.

Golfers never pay to be in a tournament — scoring and the leaderboard are free for everyone. Only the person setting events up needs a director account.

Running an event this season?

Tell us where and when. We're bringing directors on in small groups so we can get the first events right, and we'll reach out before Tournament Mode opens up.

We'll only email you about Tournament Mode. No newsletter, no sharing your details.
